Talk: "Recent Advances in the Molecular Understanding and Diagnostics of Bone Tumours"

Profile: Prof Dr Daniel Baumhoer is the BRCCH Professor in Bone and Soft Tissue Pathology. He is also a consultant pathologist with special expertise in bone and soft tissue, as well as head and neck pathology. At the University Hospital in Basel, he leads the Bone Tumour Reference Centre and the DÖSAK Reference Registry through which he receives 800-1000 consultation cases a year, mostly from Switzerland and Germany but also from other countries. Prof Baumhoer contributed to several fascicles of the WHO classification of tumours as the responsible first author and has contributed to more than 200 peer-reviewed publications. His research focuses on elucidating the molecular pathogenesis of bone and soft tissue tumours, with a particular focus on methylation classifiers.
