Dr Florian Traversi has been a postdoctoral researcher in Prof Matthias Baumgartner’s and Dr Sean Froese’s research groups in the Division of Metabolism at University Children’s Hospital Zürich since September 2020. He obtained a BSc in biomedical sciences from Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland and an MSc in pathophysiology from the University of Strasbourg, France. During his PhD studies at the Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine in Bern, he investigated the role of MAPK and NOTCH pathways in thyroid cancer. His current focus is on identifying how single gene defects lead to disturbed metabolic networks in vitamin B12 and folate metabolism.
