Dr Monica Golumbeanu
Monica Golumbeanu is a postdoctoral Research Associate in the Disease Intervention Dynamics group of Prof Melissa Penny at the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute. In her research, Monica develops data-driven computational analyses and mathematical models to understand infection dynamics and the impact of interventions on host and pathogen populations. Within the context of a BRCCH project (link below), she provides her expertise and support with data analysis and model-based methods for defining and implementing a decision framework for optimizing medical interventions against COVID-19. Prior her postdoc, Monica obtained a PhD in Computational Biology from ETH Zurich, where she studied gene expression dynamics of HIV infection.
