Dr Nikola Stankovic is an anaesthetist with over ten years of experience in the field of paediatric anaesthesiology and intensive care. After specialization, he gained most of his professional skills at the Serbian Institute for Mother and Child Health Care and during placements dedicated to paediatric cardiac anaesthesiology in Bergamo, Milan and San Donato in Italy. Dr Stankovic completed his MS in 2014 and his PhD in the field of immunology at the Military Medical Academy in Serbia in 2018. For four years, he worked as an assistant professor at the University of Belgrade, participating in numerous international and local research projects. Since 2019, he has been a postdoctoral fellow at University Children’s Hospital Basel (UKBB). His fundamental aspiration and the main goal of his engagement are the practical validation and clinical benefits of research results.
