Dr Georgios Kalamakis

Georgios Kalamakis, PhD, is a joint postdoctoral fellow between ETH Zurich and the Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research (NIBR). He obtained a Masters degree in Neural and Behavioural Sciences from the University of Tübingen and performed his PhD research in the German Cancer research institute in Heidelberg where he studied the impact of aging on neural stem cells of the murine brain. Georgios was always interested in high-throughput screening, hence he joined the laboratories of Biological engineering (ETH) and Functional Genetics (NIBR) where he performs various genetic screens using the CRISPR/Cas9 system.
