Gianpaolo Pontiggia is a committed environmental expert and project manager with 13 years of experience. During his career, he has developed a set of transferable skills including management, problem-solving, communication and technical experience. This is in addition to his scientific background and passion for natural environment-related topics spanning from biodiversity and sustainability to urbanization and public health.

He has worked as a project manager at the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) on international malaria projects funded by international donors such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the Clinton Health Access Initiative and the Global Fund. He is also a project coordinator ensuring the efficient workflow of the internal team, including assisting with the preparation of grants, contracts and budgeting, and also recruitment, from drafting adverts to interviews and onboarding. In his current role, he is assisting a team of epidemiologists in any tasks where business skills are required while maintaining and developing remote relationships with a multi-national team based across the world.
