Olivier Belli, MSc, D.Ing., is a PhD student in the group of Prof Randall Platt. He graduated in 2017 from a Master’s Degree in High Throughput Approaches for Biology and an Engineering Degree in Biotechnology at the University of Strasbourg. Before joining ETH Zürich, he worked for companies developing cutting edge technologies based on the CRISPR/Cas9 system such Caribou Biosciences (Berkeley, USA) and Horizon Discovery (Vienna, Austria). These previous professional experiences allowed him to develop a strong expertise in mammalian cell culture, recombinant virus production, molecular cloning, next generation sequencing, flow cytometry and gene editing. At the Laboratory for Biological Engineering, Olivier develops in vitro methods for the high-throughput screening of genetic mutations in human cells.
