Prof Hojka Gregoric Kumperscak, MD, PhD, trained in child and adolescent psychiatry in Slovenia and abroad (Italy, UK, Germany and Switzerland). She has held the Chair of the Department of Psychiatry in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Maribor in Slovenia since January 2017 and has been Head of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit at the University Medical Centre in Maribor since 2008. She is President of the Slovene Association for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and a member of the editorial board for the journal World Child & Adolescent Psychiatry (World-CAP) published by the World Psychiatric Association.

Prof Kumperscak’s main clinical work is with adolescents with personality and psychotic disorders and her research focuses on the genetics of developmental disorders, including ADHD and early-onset schizophrenia. She is an adolescent identity treatment psychotherapist and trainer and has written many scientific articles and book chapters on different topics in child and adolescent psychiatry.
